3 stars Don't get too excited by the H.R. Giger cover art: this is not the sort of dark exploration of taboo sonic realms that a Giger piece might suggest (nor, thank goodness, is it anywhere close to Brain Salad Surgery). Instead, what you get on Joel Vandroogenbroeck's Biomechanoid is some charming electronic-flavoured library music which will forgettably fade into the background when you put it on but, as far as such music goes, is kind of pleasant in its style, especially if you want to slip in a bit of a sci-fi atmosphere momentarily. Good, but not worth paying top dollar for, and nowhere near as weird and wild as his Brainticket work.
