4 stars Jack Yello from Germany formerly (Jagiello) was formed in 2000, releasing so far 2 albums, one in 2003 Thorns of anger and second in 2009 named Xeric. Well, this band is a nice surprise, at least for me. They palay neo prog with some subtle influences from prog metal all for good measure, the combination is quite intresting and very well played, imagine a combination of Marillion with dutch neo prog Splinter, maybe Arena and prog metal bands such as Dream Theater. The album has plenty of istrumental passages, well played and god damn intresting, as example is the opening track You've Got, the rest are also top. There are lots of hooks and melodic lines with sharp guitar passages and inventive keyboards - the result is Jack Yello. All in all recommended album, I personaly like it a lot, unfairly unnoticed band and album in prog circles. From me 4 stars easy, very strong. Nice art work and booklet.
