3 stars 1982 Jan Garbarek released Paths, Prints and this album offers similar sounds to his previous works. One notable mention is the highly talented Eberhard Weber plays bass on this album which immediatley makes for a better overall work especially as at times Garbarek's sax sound largely dominate proceeding. Sometimes too much for this reviewer. The artist certainly started finding more even ground on future works where he even began incorporating vocalsand choral passages to his works.

Paths, Prints is a good album, not disimilar to Places released in 1978 and has some shorter musical tracks. The highlights here would haveto be " Arc", the cleverly titled " Considering The Snail", The opening piece " The Path" and the closing passage " Still". The album theme is about moving, journeys and destinations and on these four tracks in particular Garbarek's sparse sounding sax is at it's best.
