3 stars I guess I'm one of the few that actually own this one. It's just a rehash of "singles" type material released by the lable to capitalize on thier new found fortune. Interesting for the shortened version of 2112, but these songs seem lame out of context from their respective albums.

5 stars This is an incredible Rush album! It has alot of there best songs on this album. When I listen to this album I say to myself this is great rock'n'roll. These guys are a pretty good canadian band but they aren't as good anymore than when they where in the 70's but that is in my eyes. The best songs are fly by night and closer to the heart. Those are the songs with very good use of guitars. In general this is a very good Rush album.

1 stars This isn't even a "Rush" album in the sense that the band had much of anything to do with it. The fact that they are my favorite band doesn't keep me from seeing the obvious negatives to this album. For one, as I stated, Rush had nothing to do with it; it was their record company's attempt to make a "best of" collection for overseas fans in particular. This doesn't even come off as a "best of" collection, as many of the tracks feel like they were randomly chosen from albums that had alot more to offer. Also, Rush's longer pieces are absent, leading one to believe that this album was created solely for commercial purposes, which any fan of Rush will tell you they've always been against. Avoid this unless you're bent on owning everything Rush. Even many collectors may want to avoid this one.

4 stars Ok:Agreed NOT a RUSH Venture By choices of there own Perhapes & Yes a Label fix for profit only release, Fact! This is a Rush Lp,Taken Out of context & Edited for commercial friendly uses < SO > But STILL A Rush Historical recording. Call It a Bootleg without the boot. Its a Well done issue with sound quality & As a< RUSH 2112> fan I am Glad that a version friendly to the masses Is Here otherwise 2112's Opus could be overlooked by Short fused listeners..This Prog/art rock formula of old works Full length / Half speed mastered / Upside down / Or Flap Jack'd as it is here "4 a taste" this Will help new listeners move into the catalog of all the rest... Great Lp to own as a RARE 2 find Rush Release & A Great Enterance to the balance behind the door of what RUSH has to offer...Rush's 2112 being the 2nd best album to have graced Our Gods Green Earth best'd only by Pink Floyd's Animals.I Might tell any unable to get through the full one side 2112 song this is a great reason to own this & 2 consider more listening to all of the 70's/early aged RUSH. This ruled Metal Hippies in ALL 70's HIGH schools. Now Go Buy the Moving pictures era and B4 collective That Birthed us Die Hard Fanz{exiting stage left after Moving pictures Going the way of a bad SAGA} Thank God It seems RUSH has entered into The right direction of RETURN & Still One of the best live shows In our world today! BY Tor ! & Here again !! Metaldad/Pinkfloydfather

1 stars 'Through Time' - Rush (Compilation)

Well, as if there weren't enough Rush compilations on the market... This does, however have the quality of being quite a bit less common than some of the other 'best-of' collections, and unlike some of the worse compilations out there, there seems to be an effort here to give it some form of continuity and flow. To that effect, many songs are out of their chronological order of release, although they are all from the same relative era.

In terms of song choice, this really isn't the best. I certainly wouldn't put 'Best I Can' on any best- of release for this band, and if it's including 'A Farewell To Kings,' where are some of the better tracks from there like 'Xanadu?' From the looks for this, this looks like a compilation geared towards the casual listener, despite the fact they include (a highly reduced excerpt) of '2112.'

The artwork is pretty amateurish, so there's really no point to purchasing it with the exception of it's rarity. Despite some positive effects of the track order, this is just a compilation that has faded into the annals of obscurity.
