3 stars 3,5 stars for sure

Madragora is one of the bands from Soth America, more precise from Argentina who gone under the radar then as now. The single album released by the band is Pecado tras pecado aka Sin after sin in english, issued in 1993 and re released in 1997 on by Musea records. The band even had years of career before this album saw the light almost a decade, they never manage to break any grounds in prog music market, not the south american or the american or european one. They remain very obscure world wide. The music is quite great, I like what I've heared here, a theatrical symphonic prog, something a la Ange with a latin twist . Besides that Ernesto Pombo has a very good voice, very elastic vocal passages, the instrumental parts are great, lots of great guitar passges made by Alex Chanten (who later one after disbanding this band he will form the neo prog bnad Chaneton) and in combination with flute and keyboards the result is pretty great. Complicated instrumental arrangements specially on pieces like La Mandragora, La Mueca De Las Maquinas or the ending longest track El Sacrificio De Axis , Madragore really make a very enjoyble album to my ears, no complins for me at nothing. Even is not a groundbreaking release has plenty of memorable parts. 3.5 stars to this album who never got any attention it in prog circles
