2 stars New century, same old songs

There are some things in life which can be relied upon. Death and taxes are the two most frequently cited, however the release of yet another Barclay James Harvest compilation every six months or so is another. Quite who these albums,(which go straight into the sale sections of the major stores), are aimed at is not so clear.

Fans of BJH will already have the original albums from which these tracks are taken, and even the rarer tracks included here, such as "Our kid's kid" and "Rock'n'roll lady" have since found their way onto the remastered versions in the form of bonus tracks.

This is one of the many compilations which focuses on the post Harvest label years, but as usual, the tracks selected appear random, with little thought being put into creating a coherent album.

Possibly worth buying if you're not inclined to replace your copies of the original albums with the expanded remasters, otherwise, why bother?
