3 stars This is one of the albums that was around while I was growing up - in my early teens. It's one that we all listened to from the offshore radio ships off the coasts of the UK and the Netherlands.

Mr Albert Show got their strange name from the shyness of one of their Roadies (by the name of Albert) who didn't like to be seen on stage. The band thought it was funny to highlight his timidity in their name! During their fairly brief career, they were quite a hard working band, and played the University and small club scene in the Netherlands and Belgium. I saw them live several times, and they were pretty good - competent without being exceptional - but they could entertain.

The album contains six fairly straight-ahead rock songs - not really all that "progressive" in style, but with a high degree of musical craft and some interesting songwriting. Each track has something to recommend it, but my favourites are "Woman" and "Did You Really Find Somebody?". Give it a listen - it's by no means essential, but your time won't be wasted!
