4 stars The Reasoning . Adventures In Neverland....or we might say TR Never... should have abandoned the good music they displayed in Dark Angel.

Strange situation....TR one per middle take out a good album. Awakening...so so....Dark Angel...gooood....Adverse Camber...bad....a retrocess .

Now we have A In N ....a quite lighter album than the before ones . With a remarkable mixture of styles....neo-prog and heavy prog...but mostly folk prog...(some passages in the style of Mostly Autumn)

A musical Adventure in TR Land ...a good adventure...nice songs...

So a good improvement for TR.

In my opinion good news from The Reasoning (I was very disappointed with Adverse Camber)

So now : 4 well deserved stars.

2 stars Listening diary 14th July 2021: The Reasoning - Adventures in Neverland (neo-prog, 2012)

This sort of music used to appeal to me, but these days it honestly makes me feel mildly nauseous. The Reasoning are prog in the loosest sense of the term - they do the bare minimum in song lengths and solos per 90 to get the classification, but really this reminds me more of a fourth-rate Fleetwood Mac clone than any progressive band. The vocals are just so empty and banal, even if the tune they're singing isn't too bad. I don't really think anything on this is poor, but it's so painfully unremarkable that it leaves a bit of a sour taste.

3.7 (3rd listen)
