4 stars Here we have a wondrous project named HUNDOS to be presented, which offers a sound hard to categorize. Their albums are differing a lot, meant as an experimental and even avantgarde approach strictly, to make it clear - no need to search for an unique niche anymore, right? Featuring hallucinative as well as jumpy groovy moments at once 'The Same Design' presents something really unpredictable, still relatively accessible though compared to some other stuff I've heard from this combo. I mean - covered by a psychedelic environment as a matter of course - this is something worthily balanced according to my taste, showing melody in the same way as trickiness and weirdness.

The opening song A Maze Of Undefined Devotions immediately makes it clear that you're taken on a parforce run here. A groovy and restless fundament is offered as for the basics - Jenny Vandeman's vocals and the synths are totally spaced out - and all the instruments (guitars, bass, organ, synths, drums) are acting that virtuoso without exception - this simply is a livewire. Resembling some krautrock ambience the last track Your heart beats finally marks the masterpiece - impossible to describe - crawling, swirling, propulsive - you must hear it to get a clue somehow - just take the chance to check their bandcamp site.

Short though substantial, lead by the Hundley brothers Sean and Kevin the band has issued something extraordinarily with 'The Same Design'. Wow - not less than six guitarists are acting here in total. Featuring ethereal female vocals sometimes reminding of Kate Bush in style, this partially comes like far from the earth. An essential contribution to the progressive rock scene deriving from the experimental department, Polytoxicomane Philharmonie seem to be a valuable comparisn as for the approach. This blows my mind - 4.5 stars are well deserved so far!
