4 stars Born in Sweden, young Stefan Strand's aka BETWEEN INTERVAL "Secret Observatory"-2005 is, to cut it short, prog-electronic cosmic but also close to the ambiental taggin, yet very intimate as detached, even to the point of sounding impersonal.

The dark textures that appear more now than then, cut off any kind of alliance with New Age kind of happy music and by doing so it also breaks free electronic music wise.

As mentioned it is transparent up to the point of becoming anonymous but in this electronic Cosmic environments it is almost like being really true to the principles of Cosmic electronic/Ambient music song writing codes of unobtrusiveness. Even if you are the creator himself. I mean no one expects the cosmos to really sound like an electronic movie-saga melody composed by John Williams or even TD!

But back to this album review, its best attributes are its never ceasing slow paced focus, its enticing as subtle melody lines and the minimal but highly creative electronic detours which avoid any kind of breakdowns or holes, so if willing you will be hooked all way through.

So! Lucky me! I started my "Between Intervals" aquaintance with such an excellent and un-Tangerine Dream like music proposal but as "cosmic" (underline COSMIC) as their best 70's works.

****4 "for PE audiophiles mostly" PA stars.
