5 stars I am following this Transylvanian progressive rock combo since their 2014 release of the Moonlit Garden album (one of my favourite Eastern European prog albums of all time!). In October 2016 the album became 10 years old and the two basic Yesterdays members: Ákos Bogáti-Bokor and Zsolt Enyedi decided to get Yesterdays back together and to pay a hommage to their debut. Várj még (Just Wait) is a slow building symphonic prog composition. This new version starts with 2 part harmonies on flute, accompanied by a 12 string acoustic guitar. The most pleasant surprize is the new lead singer's clear, calm, yet vivid voice. Beáta Bölönyi-Márton surely adds some new dimensions to this song. Both of the flute player girls Gréta Klemenz and Tábitha Bodizs are singing rich backing vocals with the help of Robbie Benjámin Fehér (who also plays acoustic guitar on the track). 4-5 part harmonies in the choruses and a strange pedal from Electro Harmonix which imitates the sound of a mellotron (but it is driven by electric guitar), still, the choir sound of this pedal adds true Mellotron feel to this song. Zsolt Enyedi's moog solo once again is a delight and (once again) he adds a little more to the old solo: he quotes their lead riff/melody from their epic called Seven and also a few notes from Yes' Close to the Edge. I got very excited that some new Yesterdays material is on the way. I've read somewhere on the band's Facebook page that the new album will be a concept album, Looking forward to that! Until the new material arrives, this acoustic piece (lyrics in Hungarian) is a nice addition to anyone who liked Yesterdays' wonderful debut album. Four solid stars from me!
