3 stars Quintessance is a hyppie rock band which has his roots in 60s psychedelic folk music. Many things have been said about the fact that they are deeply influenced by indian raga, spiritual eastern flavor, well, unfortunately we can't very appreciate it on this album which is largely composed for short structured pop songs, sometimes very old dated, sometimes developped in a cool introspective, soul and jazzy vibe with acoustic sections (notably due to the use of flute and perscussions). This album is rather inegal, mixing conventional folk songs to original jamming sessions with a touch of eastern influences but this is a correct and pleasant work for those who are in touch with indian prog folk...however less consistent and less mystical than the german side of psych / prog folk using classical indian music elements (Langsyne, Emma Myldenberger)
