3 stars Erik, first review! ;-)

Back to business. Indeed wow - I realised that this is a 2-men project only when glanced at the booklet. They sound like a BAND, really, apart from most of 1-2-3-men projects I heard. We have enjoyable Neo-prog (close to IQ, COLLAGE, ARENA and other bands from the 90s wave of Neo) here with melodical and well-written/recorded pieces varying in tempo and mood (from ballads like "Another World" to rock-hits like "Stony Broke"...isn't this one about Stonebeard? ;-) ). Opening epic has a bit boring piano/ vocal-only coda (not even coda but a half of the song!) while the closing one has a bit too long spacy but also boring intro filled with noises (good lyrics here, btw) - I think they both should have been shorter.

Again, nothing special here, but if you're a fan of a genre or a Prog Collector, you need this one. Recommended? OK, recommended, it's a pleasant album

2 stars THE VOW were a German neo progressive duo (before turning later into a normal band) formed in 1998 by multi-instrumentalists Ralf Link and Holger Goetz. In 2000 they released their first work entitled ''Another world''.This is a typical neo-prog album filled with decent melodies and strong and varied keyboard work, not unlike bands like PENDRAGON,CYAN and early-SYLVAN.The duo follows mainly a smooth style of playing with song-based material, while all tracks are sung in English with a slight German-accent.There is also plenty of piano here and a fair amount of acoustic guitars, which try to make the effort more interesting. What about the final conclusions?...Well,at least to my ears it is not satisfying. There are lot of recycled themes introduced and every note seems like it's been included in another album. So,if you're a new prog fan this might be a good start but for listeners who have been around prog for time,I would't really recommend it...Nevertheless,you will find nothing extraordinary listening to ''Another world'',which is an album for all those who like a more accesible style of prog based on good songs and melodies.
