3 stars I bought this album by the Brasilian one shot band Loch Ness in the early Nineties from French progrock label/mail-order service Musea. I was a quite expensive purchase but I still love Prologue, what a wonderful music. The recording quality is not really high standard, the singer has an obvious accent, the arrangements are simple but the music is so warm and compelling and the singer does a good job to add an emotional element. Especially the tension between the beautiful work on the Grand piano and the harder edged guitarplay and bombastic keyboards is great. The one moment you listen to tender acoustic piano, the other moment to fiery or howling electric guitar runs and flashy synthesizer flights, very dramatic and dynamic! AN ALBUM TO DISCOVER!

3 stars Loch Ness is an obscure progresive rock band from Brazil, who released only one album since now entitled Prologue from 1991. The music is ymphonic prog with nice arrangements, good interplays between musicians, but sometimes the whole albums is to pale or to naive in comparation with other releases from this genre. It's clear from the first track that they are begginers in this field, the voice is good but to timid, it's like he is afraid to burst out on some parts when is needed this. Anyway, as a whole is a good album that worth investigate, they remind me in places of late '70;s german bands like Minotaurus, Tibet. The music has nice interplys between musicians, specially when are bombastic keys dueling with hard edged guitars, great moments, the instrumental arrangements are the better ones from here like on instrumental Hallowe'en or the lngest piece from here Satan's Ville, nearly 14 min of classy symphonic prog. 3 star for this forgotten early '90 prog goody. Nothing really special but not a bad recotd for sure, worth to be heard at least ones , and only if you find it, it's kinda hard to get. 3 stars
