3 stars The album was recordedin '79, but it took three years to find a label willing to bring it out! On the album there's a leading part for the guitarsynthesizer, Jan's new discovery. The songs Valdez, Visions of Blue and C.S. bring you only his guitar, colored by the synths. The other songs are jazz-rock., once again performed with Jasper van 't Hof and Joachim Kühn. Heavy Treasure was later re-recorded for Can't Stand Noise.(lack of inspiration?) There's a pre-version of Cool in the Shadow that's called Blue in the Shadow. A track on the Oil in the Family album, which was recorded within' 24 hours during the sessions for Pleasure Point. "Oil" was released earlier as a result of a bet; the real serious stuff had to wait... 'til it finally failed to reach the Dutch charts in '82. In the beginning I didn't like the album very much, but he did worser things. For those who collect cd's there's a treasure of bonus tracks. (unreleased demo recordings) If you can do without these luxury the lp is still worth buying it.
