3 stars Blues hearts is an album with a lot of different styles. You can call the first two tracks bluesrock . Wake up! is blessed with a fiery riff and one of my favorites. Blues Route is popular on stage. It's very fast for the definition blues, so it's the most rock-orientated song on the album. He kept on playin' it for years. The cover Milestones is the him beloved jazz-rock / fusion. (I just bought the original, years after the purchase of "BH") Next song, Red Pool House Blues, is once again the blues. No Gossip is the return of the smooth funk from the "3" album. It's a new version of Stingray; however the original is better , because you miss the horn-section, strings and flutes on No Gossip. Virgin Mary is a ballad which was inspired by the song Birth from Hamburger concerto. Traffic Jam is once again the jazz-rock / fusion and the weakest song from the album. The second cover on the album is Mercy, mercy, mercy. Played as jazz without the rock. His version on Talent/ guitar for sale is better. The new one is much longer and Í'm getting a little sleepy with it. Highlight is the new version of Focus IV; Soft Focus. Original written by T. van Leer, but forgotten to mention it in the credits. this mistake was redressed on the "10.000 Clowns" album. It's clear Soft Focus has a symfonic sound. Blues Hearts is not essential for any prog-collection, but to me it's a good one.
