RXYZYXR biography
Founded in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 2010

RXYZYXR is an extreme progressive metal band formed in St. Petersburg, Russia around 2010. The band released in instrumental demo in 2010 followed by their first full length LP LMNTS in 2012. The band's sound was highly reminiscent of the heavy rhythmic riffing of MESHUGGAH interspersed with ethnic flairs with the use of occasional throat singing, traditional percussion instruments, and other touches.

The band mostly disappeared for several years as the band members focused on their personal lives. In 2018, the band unexpectedly announced the release of their next LP, II of V, which was a return to the band's instrumental roots.
