THE FERTILITY CULT is a Finish progressive rock group from Tampere formed in 2008 and as of 2019, consists of Anssi SOLISMAA, Artturi MAKINEN, Eero Johannes HEINONEN, Ilari RYHANEN and Ville KAILA. The group is self proclaimed as a band of astral travelers that fulfill pledges to various deities while listening to BLACK SABATH, and their lyrics and music do live up to that esoteric level. The long and loud drone like songs might appeal to fans of stoner and doom metal like SLEEP or OM but what separates them from the pack are progressive elements that take listeners to spacey atmospheres, along with the help of a very present and distinct saxophone played by RYHANEN which in their later albums can attract even jazz lovers.
