Ceddo biography
CEDDO was a German jazz rock group from Dortmund, Nordrhein-Westfalen founded in 1978 by MISSUS BEASTLY and KOLLEKTIV member, guitarist Jochen SCHRUMPF. The group started out as a trio including drummer Michael PETERS and bass player Ulrich BICHMANN, and they played music comparable to other bands in the jazzy German krautrock scene of the time, like the already mentioned MISSUS BEASTLY (from which saxophone player Klaus DAPPER was also included in a later CEDDO line-up), MUNJU or even some of DZYAN. Their early period also includes a live and more experimental release done in collaboration with poet Christoph Derschau. As their music moved to more conventional fusion and latin and fuzak elements in the later 80's, they continued working under the alias JOCHEN SCHRUMPF'S CEDDO.
