Mekong Airlines biography
Founded in Leipzig, Germany in the early 21st century, the project performed as See Jane run. In January 2017, when the bassist Frank left Leipzig, the band reformed with the new bassist Chris as Mekong Airlines, named after a dubious Cambodian airline that only existed for a few weeks and operated a single turquoise aircraft. It's postrock: bass, guitar, drums and just the right amount of life-affirming 80ties synthesizers. Mekong Airlines make music to get carried away, dream, contemplate, mosh. Through the last three years they played numerous live gigs from the southern Leipzig DIY-basement to clubs and openair events in Leipzig, Halle and Berlin. In 2018 they released the self-titled first full length 12 vinyl album with DetroidnitzRockcityRecords (DRR) and Randmuzik. This was followed by a second album Gran Telescopio in early 2021 which was also released with DRR and Randmuzik as 12 vinyl.
