Dimlaia biography
DIMLAIA were an American atmospheric sludge quintet formed in 1998 in Memphis, later relocating to Oakland. The lineup featured Bill MCINDOO (guitars), Grant MILLER (guitars/vocals), Carl AUGE (bass/vocals; formerly of HIS HERO IS GONE), Mark WEBER (drums) and Kristen DEETS (vocals/violin). Their bleak hardcore, crust and post-metal-inspired sound was augmented by DEETS' violin and guest cellist Jackie PEREZ GRATZ (member of GRAYCEON, GIANT SQUID and AMBER ASYLUM). Their self-titled LP, produced by Dave EDWARDSON of NEUROSIS, was released on "Life Is Abuse" in 2003. A follow-up split with Japanese grindcore outfit SWARRRM appeared three years later, featuring a single ten-minute track, "A Light in August."

DIMLAIA's style will appeal to listeners of NUX VOMICA, NEUROSIS, FALL OF EFRAFA, ENVY, AUSSITOT MORT and EINNA.
