Antisoph biography
ANTISOPH is an extreme progressive metal trio from Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and active since 2014, originally under the name ORB. The band began as the duo of guitarist and vocalist Jan Moritz PLEWKA and drummer Christopher DUIS, which self-released their debut "Craft" in 2016. While PLEWKA handled the bass work in the studio, Wolfram EGGEBRECHT joined in 2016 and would take over duties henceforth. Now a trio, the band changed its name to ANTISOPH in 2017 and reissued "Craft" under the new moniker. Their self-titled LP would be released by Geisterasche Organisation the following year. The album marked a mature refinement of their sound, with PLEWKA's vocals taking a more prominent role in the compositions.

ANTISOPH plays a colourfully technical and avant-garde mix of black metal and thrash, with harsh vocals eschewed for PLEWKA's soaring tenor and angular harmonies seemingly informed by Ved Buens Ende. The band is recommended to fans of HOWLING SYCAMORE, MEKONG DELTA, VOIVOD, VIRUS, EXTOL and VULTURE INDUSTRIES.
