Wake Up on Fire biography
Wake Up on Fire were an American atmospheric sludge metal septet from Baltimore, Maryland. Taking influences from doom metal, post-rock, hardcore and crust punk, Wake Up on Fire existed from 2002 to 2005, consisting of guitarists Chris Control and Tim Messing, the mononymous cellist Christine, bassist Mis Zill, drummers Kevin Hannigan and Just Dave, as well as Oak leader Jo Gonzales (with every band member contributing vocals).

The group self-released twenty copies of their debut demo in 2002, with Just Dave, Chris Control and Tim Messing forming the similarly-inclined side project Nux Vomica the following year. Wake Up on Fire's eponymous and sole album was released by Torture Garden Pictures Company in 2005 before the band dissolved, and a posthumous split with Nux Vomica was issued by Aborted Society Records in 2008.
