Kickbit Information biography
KICKBIT INFORMATION was a short-lived super group consisting of experienced members from the vivid German jazz krautrock scene. It was spring 1974 when bass player Uli Trepte, founding member of Guru Guru, and ex-Frumpy drummer Carsten Bohn decided to record some music together. Also aboard was Will Pape (woodwinds), known from collaborations with the likes of Dennis and Thirsty Moon. They made some demos at Conny Plank's studio, and then full of confidence decided to form a real band. Soon after Otto Richter (violin) and Fritz Hegi (keyboards) joined.

KICKBIT INFORMATION absolved some live gigs, but never reached for the recognition and reputation a band is looking for. Subsequently one year later the decision came up to quit the project again. Thus the band's legacy is limited to one studio album that was released in 1998. Recorded with rather simple equipment 'Bitkicks' features three improvised tracks respectively excerpts from 1975, formatted to a vinyl playing time.
