Ulsect biography
Ulsect are a Dutch technical death metal band from Tilburg, formed in 2013. The quintet consists of guitarists Joris Bonis (formerly of Dodecahedron and Drown the Moth) and Arno Frericks (formerly of Encircled), bassist Dennis Aarts (formerly of Textures and Drown the Moth), vocalist Dennis Maas (formerly of Drown the Moth) and drummer Jasper Barendregt (formerly of Dodecahedron, Exivious and Drown the Moth). Signed to Season of Mist, the group released their self-titled debut LP in 2017, touching upon themes of human failure and prophecies of demise.

Ulsect play a style of atmospheric and dissonant death metal inspired by Ulcerate, Meshuggah and Gorguts, and share similarities with Nero di Marte, Nightmarer, Départe, John Frum, Obsidian Mantra and Zhrine.
