Goldoolins biography
Goldoolins were a psychedelic folk rock band from Israel, formed by multi-instrumentalists Itay Eyal, his wife Tal and his old friend Ohad Goldbart. The band's name is a portmanteau of the friends' surnames, with Itay and Tal adopting the respective monikers ET Doolin and Tadlik N. Doolin as tributes to the Irish town in which they spent their 2001 honeymoon. In their youth, Ohad and Itay were part of the symphonic prog trio Lord Flimnap, who released a single album in 1989, and the two reunited in the mid-1990s to resume playing music following their mandatory military service. The duo busked about Canada, writing and performing the songs that would take shape as Goldoolins in 2004, bolstered by the addition of the classically-trained Tal.

Goldoolins played an eclectic progressive folk similar to Fairport Convention, Mellow Candle and Trader Horne, combining the trio's love of the Beatles, the Band, Matti Caspi and Renaissance music, with songs mostly sung in English and only a handful in Hebrew. The band released three LPs between 2004 and 2006 and a compilation album in 2008 before winding down with the birth of Tal and Itay's son, reuniting for a handful of performances in late 2012.
