Dorian Gray biography
A short-lived krautrock outfit from Meinerzhagen, Dorian Gray were a German quintet consisting of vocalist Claudia Schippel, guitarist/vocalist Filler Mueschenborn, bassist Herbert Jassmann, keyboardist Rüdiger Brune and drummer Kurt Paetzold.

Named after the ill-fated protagonist of Oscar Wilde's evergreen novel, Dorian Gray released their sole LP, Idahaho Transfer, via New Blood in 1976, showcasing their scrappy but earnest proggy garage rock. Eschewing overtly experimental impulses, Dorian Gray followed other obscure krautrock groups in modelling themselves after late-1960's psychedelia and space rock from the United States and Great Britain, perhaps lacking a distinct German identity but standing out with a noticeable punk-like edge and mixing hints of symphonic, jazz and blues rock. Idahaho Transfer was re-released on compact disc through Lost Pipedreams in 1994 with a bonus track.
