Gemini Revolution biography
Formed in 2012, Kansas City based GEMINI REVOLUTION comprises founders, brothers and core members Dedric MOORE (synthesizer, bass, drum programming, dub guitar and voice, formerly of Piercing Eyes and The Republic Tigers) and Delaney MOORE (synthesizer and voice, formerly of Kiki's Revenge) both originating from 'psych-tronica' outfit Monta At Odds as well as Mysterious Clouds, Lolo and Big Sky Showcase. In 2013, over a period of three records, they were augmented by Monta-multi-instrumentalist Mika TAYANA (drums and voice, formerly with John Zorn while attending Berkley) followed by Thomas ROMERO and Zach (Zachary) BOZICH on the 2014 outings, all intertwined in various configurations including Mysterious Clouds and El Condor. Further augmentations led to subsequent releases.

Deriving the band name from NASA's space shuttle, the brothers share a fascination of science, science fiction and the cosmos which comes across in their music and the releases which coincide with notable cosmic events such as the peak of a meteor shower, Geminids I and II being examples. Space exploration being the main theme for the group's music, song titles evolve around stars, meteors, supernovas, quarks and focus on flights, dreaming, floating, mind having wings etc. pointing toward the psychedelic/space rock genre. Moreover, a number of releases are fittingly dedicated to star or meteor shower watching and other stargazing activity.

Predominantly instrumental (with occasional vocals) and songs of epic proportions without many drums, stylistically they are described as tranquil meandering avant-psych, dark ambient interstellar challenging atmosphere, 'sonic journey to the depths of your being' with layered, cosmic sounds / Kosmische tones and dreamlike synth-droned scapes in analogue textures floating in unfolding space as a 'cosmic aural journey through inner beauty and celestial sonic wonders' that 'surround you in a sonically colorful mist'. The music "ranges from ambient to space rock and free jazz" with mantra-like movements centering on mood.

This will appeal to you if you like Steve Roach, Brian Eno, Vidna Obmana, Jeffrey Feyman or even The Doors and Enya or space rock in general.
