Scenery biography
Formed in 1994, Scenery were an underground Czech technical death metal band based in Mohelnice. The lineup, in flux since their inception, originally consisted of four mononymously-identified musicians: bassist Mares, drummer Martin and guitarists KeKi and Lerry, the latter of whom would be the only constant member throughout Scenery's tenure. Unsigned and independent, Scenery self-released 1997's The Drowning Shadow of Mankind and 2002's Philosophy of Ages..., with 2006's Continuity issued through Élysion Music and 2012's swan song Mental Confusion via Pařát Magazine.

Scenery evolved from the technical thrash of their early work to a more progressive death metal orientation, taking particular influence from Atheist as well as Sadus, Pestilence and Messiah. A quarter-century after its premiere, Scenery's discography received renewed interest in 2023 with a limited edition reissue of their debut, again released through Pařát.

Scenery will be a welcome discovery for fans of Coroner, Serdce, Sadist, Alarum and Death.
