Pálidos biography

Hailing from the small Portuguese parish of Caparica, psych-prog outfit Pálidos were formed in 2015 by the founding trio of lead vocalist/guitarist Nuno Coelho, rhythm guitarist João Afonso, and drummer Manuel Duarte. As their lineup grew - including bassist André Guerreiro and keyboardist Cláudio Pascoal - they became known for their highly atmospheric approach to progressive music.

After releasing the EPs EPá Lindo and No Mar de Marte in 2019 and 2020 respectively, Pálidos released their debut full-length Fim Do Nada in December of 2021. Sung entirely in the band's native Portuguese, the record is a cross-decade fusion of vintage and modern progressive rock sounds, accompanied with the lyrical concept of - in the band's own words - "memories and time".

Pálidos have yet to release their (currently unnamed) second album; however, they did put out a song in 2022 titled "Doninha" which, according to the band, is intended as the lead single of this upcoming record. As of 2023, the band has maintained the same lineup since the addition of Cláudio Pascoal in late 2018.

Pálidos are highly recommended for fans of modern psychedelic rock with an old-school twist, as well as those who enjoy a touch of surf rock and symphonic influence in their prog.
