Mist biography
Formed in 2009, Mist are a progressive electronic duo from the United States, consisting of Emeralds' John Elliott and Radio People's Sam Goldberg. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, the two use analogue synthesizers, various electronics and Elliott's processed vocals to create light, warm and droning kosmische ambient not far from the Ashra-oriented work of Emeralds' later years.

Mist entered the scene with two limited edition cassettes, 2009's Certain Expansion and Stole Colors, both jointly released by Wagon and Goldberg's Pizza Night label. Late 2009 also saw the arrival of Mist's self-titled debut LP, issued via Amethyst Sunset along with 2010's follow-up EP Glowing Net. Mist's last known activity as of this writing was the 2011 House LP, released via Elliott's Spectrum Spools label just prior to Emeralds' momentary summer hiatus. Demonstrating greater compositional maturity and longer pieces, House was described by the duo as influenced by New York contemporaries and labelmates Forma and Michael Hoenig's Departure From the Northern Wasteland.
