Becoming-Animal biography
Becoming-Animal is a multinational avant-garde noise rock trio consisting of Hungarian free improviser Quetzal Tirado on saxophone, clarinet and vocals, British math rock multi-instrumentalist Nika Ticciati on guitar and Hong Kong-based percussionist Teruki Chan on drums. The three have played together in several formations (including The Wandering Luminous, Quetzal Tirado Unit and Nika Ticciati's Cataclysm Ensemble) mostly focusing on improvisation-heavy music, with Becoming-Animal among their shared projects producing the most rock-centered sound: an unrelenting, distorted black metal and no wave-infused blast of atonal noise growled, blown, plucked or beaten out by the musicians. As of 2023, the year of their foundation, Becoming-Animal have one self-released studio album to their name.
