Hist�resis biography
Hist�resis is a Cuban progressive rock/metal band. The band was founded in 2017 by Jorge Antonio Fern�ndez (keyboards), Emmanuel Urqu�a (guitars) and Luis Samuel Cano (drums). They met and studied at the National School of Music of Havana. They were later joined by Marcos Garrido (bass) and Denis Rodr�guez (lead vocals).

The band plays progressive rock/metal, influenced by both classic and modern elements of the genre, with a twist as the musicians creatively insert elements of Hispanic singer song-writers and Cuban trova in their music. The lyrics are mostly chronicles of life, reflecting on the social and cultural context surrounding the musicians.

Hist�resis is one of the most important progressive rock/metal bands in Cuba. In their home country, they have played the most important rock and metal festivals and have been in the most prestigious television shows. The band released their debut album Hist�resis Magn�tica in 2022 and several music videos were produced.

Assault on Heaven (2024) is their second album, funded by the Young Art Fund, produced and recorded on V-Day Records and released by the Chilean record label Mylodon Records. The album has a more modern sound, blending elements of djent, trip hop, drum & bass and electronic music, without renouncing the Cuban trova sound and Hispanic singer/song-writing elements.
