samlrc biography
samlrc is a project by an experimental Brazilian artist also known as Samantha Rodrigues da Cruz, who was born in 2004 and has made Do It Yourself music in their house and is influenced by Swans, Björk, Natural Snow Buildings and Low, as well as by various post-rock and post-metal groups, and also Brazilian folk. Across the discography, the music has experimental, post-rock, folk, shoegaze, Indie and post-metal qualities. Despite the DIY attributes, and the artist only being a 16 year old teen at the time, 2020's Things I'd Like to Forget went on to get significant notice and vinyl sales. It was in 2024 that samlrc became a big name in certain corners of the internet with the release of the album A Lonely Sinner, which was made more popular by one of YouTube's big name music reviewers giving the album positive attention.
