Eos biography
Eos are a Canadian progressive black metal trio from Quebec City. Not to be confused with the Australian black metal band from Sydney, this Eos is signed to Mystískaos and was founded in 2009 by guitarist/bassist Gia Hoi Nguyen (aka Glauque; currently of Délétère and Wendess) accompanied by the drummer/vocalist identified only as K., later finding a proper bassist with the equally-mysterious P. (with their live lineup featuring guitarist Atheos of Délétère and Monarque).

The band made its first appearance in 2013 on Fallen Empire Records' label compilation SVN OKKLT, with their track "Katharsis" appearing again a year later on their debut EP, L'avalé, recorded when Eos were just the duo of Glauque and K. Five years later, Eos returned with their definitive lineup on a 2019 split with like-minded Montréal band Malebranche, issued on a limited cassette run via Les Productions Hérétiques.

Having established a relatively straightforward style of atmospheric black metal in their earlier work, Eos took a leap in technicality and dissonance with their debut full-length, 2021's Les corps s'entrechoquent, jointly released by Mystískaos and through Iron Bonehead Productions. The LP contained the band's most ambitious and progressive songwriting yet, and featured artwork by Markov Soroka of blackened death-doom project Tchornobog, for which Nguyen has occasionally provided bass live and in studio.
