Huremic biography
Huremic is one of the monikers of the anonymous Seoul-based South Korean musician best-known for his post-rock/shoegaze unit Parannoul. Appearing in early 2025 on a whim, Huremic's name is taken from the 1981 EP by defunct British post-rock/punk band Dif Juz. The project made its debut on NTS Radio in March 2025 with the Seeking Darkness LP, recorded and produced in 20 days, with Parannoul again handling all instruments, sampling, drum programming and vocals (delivering mantra-like lyrics in both English and Korean).

As the album title implies, Huremic's approach explores more shadowy and intense avenues than Parannoul, linking noise-rock totalism, trance-inducing industrial krautrock, frenzied ritual percussion and the contemporary progressive Korean folk subgenre known as fusion gugak. The resulting style arrives at the intersection of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Swans, Boris and Boredoms; indeed, the latter three are cited as important influences, along with Can, Laddio Bolocko, black midi, Ureuk and the Gypsies and Ground-Zero. Parannoul has described Seeking Darkness as a loose concept album inspired by the journey of Siddhartha, particularly his depiction in Osamu Tezuka's manga/anime Buddha.

Huremic followed up their debut LP a month later with the track "3" for the 祈雨祭 (Guioujae) charity compilation, taking their noise rock-cum-fusion gugak sound in a decidedly weirder, even avant-prog direction, which Parannoul claims will define Huremic's sophomore album.
