Una Corda biography
UNA CORDA are from Birmingham,UK and play an interesting mix of instrumental post-metal and post-rock.The eclectic line-up consists of two guitarists,a drummer and two bassists(who typically play in different octaves).
So far UNA CORDA have only released one EP,2005's four song debut entitled "Proper Position for Floating (1881),in which the song titles are numbered (1,2,3,4).The band is currently at work recording their first full-length album.
From a purely influential perspective, the moody, largely instrumental work of THE CURE at the end of the 1980's seems to have had a substantial impact.Don't let the comparison turn you off though,as fans that like the contemporary work of bands in this style should also find UNA CORDA appealing. The serene aspects of ISIS' "Panopticon" provide another appropriate comparison.
The music of UNA CORDA should appeal to a broad range of fans of bands such as PELICAN,ISIS,RED SPAROWES,MOGWAI and SIGUR ROS and are highly recommended.
