Kourtyl biography
Four high school buddies, drummer Marcus LINON, bassist Briac MAILLARD, singer Paulo CURRALO and Jeremie CALANI, formed KOURTYL in 2001. A mix of French rock, American metal and classic Prog, the band gelled quickly and found some success with several demos in 2002 and '03, eventually appearing live with MAGMA.

The first album from 2007 is a melodic collection of songs with an indie sensibility but a metal heart, was self-titled and features ten medium-length tracks.

Atmospheric, structurally straight-forward but tonally rich, KOURTYL may have a promising place among a new European heavy art rock scene.
