EXOTIC ANIMAL PETTING ZOO is a experimental/mathcore band from the United Stated that formed in 2004 by brothers Brandon and Stephen Carr. Shortly after their formation, the band recorded a 5 song demo with a wide range of styles while searching for a bass player that could fill in. In 2005 the band found Scott Certa and after playing shows in the region the band decided to record their first EP in 2006, which would eventually lead them to open for bands like Kaddisfly, As Blood Runs Black and Brazil. It wasn't long before a record label would notice them and eventually they got signed to Mediaskare Records.

After getting singed the band began recording what would become their first full length entitled "I Have Made My Bed in Darkness". The album was released in August 2008 and immediately gained attention by their unique and eclectic sound. In October 2008 the band was invited to play in the Dudestorm Part Deux tour alongside Fear Before the March of Flames(now known as Fear Before), I Am The Ocean, and Dameira and around that time Steve Radakovich joined the band to further complete their sound.

Though hard to pin down their style it is quite evidently that their sound is a combination of post rock, mathcore with a progressive edge. The bands current lineup consists of Brandon Carr (guitars, vocals), Scott Certa (bass), Stephen Carr (drums, samples, vocals) and Steve Radakovich (guitars).
