Moe! Staiano is a percussionist, playing on whatever objects he can find. He has released his own music under his name and under collaborative project called Moe!Kestra! and another project called Mute Socialiste as well as recording and performing with other groups. His solo output under his own name consists of three albums: The Non-Study of First Impressions (1997), The Lateness of Yearly Presentations (2002) and The Absolute Tradition of No Traditions (2007). Another work in progress is of a studio project of old song ideas meant for Mute Socialite.

Mute Socialiste was a band with guitarist Ava Mendoza and bassist Alee Karim, second drummer Shayna Dunkleman, and trumpeter Liz Allbee. Moe! played drums and percussive guitar and guitar. They broke up in the summer of 2009.

Moe!Kestra! is his project where he writes text/graphic scores for large ensembles (seven pieces up until 2009, all of which performed between 1997-2009).
As for disc releases of this project, the first album was released in 2003 and included two improvisations ?Two Forms of Multitudes: Conducted Improvisations.
In 2006 Moe!Kestra! released Piece No.7: An Inescapable Siren Within Earshot Of Hearing Distance Therein And Other Whereabouts, which is written for guitars (played with all low E-strings played with a coiled implement), strings, percussion, u-bolts, wine glasses and sirens.
In May of 2007 Moe!Kestra celebrated 10 years. That year saw the premier of ?Piece No.9: When Terrie Had Six? dedicated to the Dutch band the Ex. That year also saw the release of 'Two Rooms of Uranium Inside 83 Markers? an album of two conducted improvisations from 2003 and 2004.
