NAUMACHIA are a Polish progresive death metal act formed in 1999 in Wyszków. The band was originally called OVERTURE but later changed their name to NAUMACHIA. The band play brutal yet melodic death metal with progressive elements. The addition of keyboards to the brutal death metal gives the music its progressive touch.

NAUMACHIA recorded a demo in 2000, but their first official release were the debut full-length studio album "Wrathorn" which was released in April 2004. The second studio album "Callous Kagathos" was released in January 2007. A third studio album called "Black Sun Rising" was released in September 2009.

The inclusion of NAUMACHIA to the Prog Archives database was approved by the Progressive Metal Team.
