Origins biography
ORIGINS started around 2007 as a trio with Brandon Hardy on guitar and vocals,
Adam Biggs on bass and Zachary Groff on percussion.

They released their debut, 'Anthrosects in Effigy' in 2007 (with Matthew Held on Electric Piano as a guest musician). With time, they evolved into a bigger combo, which was grown to a sextet in 2009 - Michael Hardy on vocals, Karen Ramberger on synthesizers and Maurice D. Psycoanalyst, reciting poetry. With this line-up they recorded 'The Architect While You Sleep' - Brandon expanded his duties with keyboards and clarinet, and Zachary with trumpet and slide guitar.

The band is often playing on the heavier side of prog - it's not a surprise The Mars Volta are one of their influences: just take a look at the debut album title. However, floydian moments (as well as good old psyche in general) are evident, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Captain Beefheart too; even some Krautrock.

Both albums are available for free on bandcamp web site (origins.bandcamp.com). Fear not, it's not an amateurish pile unsigned bands are uploading - both are professionally recorded and mastered - and highly recommended.
