Distant Lights biography
US outfit DISTANT LIGHTS are based out of Austin, Texas. They were formed around 2005 when small-town friends Gaelan Bellamy (guitars) and Sam Marshall (bass) convinced Chris Hynes (drums) and later on Jon Dexter (cello) to have a go with them on a musical venture. When Gabriel Fry (vocals) hooked up with the band in 2007 the line-up was finalized. One year of playing live, practicing and recording material later, their debut album Simulacrum was released, to a generally positive reaction and references made to bands as different as Metallica and Radiohead in terms of musical style.

Distant Lights continues being an active live band to date, and are working on a second album planned for a 2011 release.
