Oaqk biography
OAQK was formed in 2002. The band is active in Tokyo, the Japanese music capital, and around (Kanagawa Prefecture).

The first major project that OAQK have been involved to at the beginning of their activity was "Closer", a musical communion of bands that gave concerts and released a series of compilation albums. The three parts of the series have been released in 2007 (the first two) and 2008, bringing OAQK to the attention of the public.

The band has also been active in various collaborations, such as the collaboration with the band OVUM resulting in the show "Amber Dawn Vol.2" (2005), or with the most important Japanese post-rock band, MONO. The latter resulted in a compilation released by Human Highway Records. Collaborations were also undergone with overseas bands such as KINSKI, BELLINI, and SHIPPING NEWS. Furthermore, the band played with ADEBISI SHANK and SAXON SHORE in 2008 as the support act.

The band's development lead to the release of the debut full-length album "Munchen" in 2009. The music of OAQK is a powerful guitar-based post-rock with heavy, aggressive moments. Their typical sound is characterized by the balance between a distorted, sludgy wall of guitar sound, and luminous, aerial guitar leads. The music will appeal to fans of MONO and GYBE! but also those of post-metal bands such as PELICAN or ISIS.
