Zvoyn biography
ZVOYN is an experimental/avant-garde grindcore solo project by French bassist Younés OYC Chraibi, who has been through a number of different bands in his career, most notably as a stint as former bassist for German post-metal act THE OCEAN COLLECTIVE. Chraibi prides himself on a very strict DIY ethic, intentionally creating raw, rough, and unpolished pieces of music (sometimes recorded in no more than one take), playing whatever instruments he can and programming whatever ones he cannot.

ZVOYN's music is a chaotic and schizophrenic mix of all sorts of music, incorporating formless grindcore metal with elements of everything from IDM to traditional Middle Eastern music to nu-jazz. Influences are cited from artists as far ranging as FANTÔMAS, JOHN COLTRANE, MESHUGGAH, OPETH, BJÖRK, MORBID ANGEL, JOHN ZORN, CYNIC, and just about everything in between. Fans of hectic and eclectic metal like ZU, EPHEL DUATH and UNEXPECT would most likely appreciate the avant-garde nuttiness present in ZVOYN's music.
