Ludicra biography
LUDICRA is an experimental black metal band based in San Francisco, California. The band was formed in 1998 and originally performed a fast paced and hard-edged style of black metal. However, in recent years, LUDICRA have began to fuse several different styles and influences into their usually lengthy compositions; ranging from contemporary black and death metal, hardcore, and neo-classical music. Their debut album "Hollow Psalms" was recorded in 2002, followed in 2004 by "Another Great Love Song". In 2006 the band released a self titled EP before releasing their third full length effort entitled "Fex Urbis Lex Orbis". In 2010, they released their fourth and final album, "The Tenant".

Throughout LUDICRA's existence, the band has forged a unique path amidst the American Black Metal scene, whilst also producing highly challenging and aurally diverse music. The neo-classical and post-metal undertones developed throughout their career are sure to provide comfortable (if not ideal) comparisons to artists like KRALLICE, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM and NEUROSIS (especially in their early hardcore era). LUDICRA called it a day on July 26th, 2011.
