The Last Void biography
THE LAST VOID is a Progressive Metal band from Costa Rica. The two brothers Felipe (Drums) and Alberto CARTIN (lead Guitars) formed the band in 2004 together with their longstanding friend Mauricio MADIGRAL (Rhythm Guitars). Female vocalist Adriana MUNOZ joined one year late. In 2007 they started recording their debut album, a long process of 3 years, with a clear mission to persue more progressive directions then previous projects they were involved in. The album 'State of Mind' was released in 2010 and featured Max ESQUIVEL and Andres CORDERO on bass guitar. Brian TORRES took the bass position after the album's release.

The band deviates from the established female-fronted melodic metal sound, it eschews operatic vocals and clearly references more Prog influences such as PAIN OF SALVATION and OPETH. There are also occasional influences from jazz, ambient and folk.
