Hydra biography
Founded in Monterrey, Mexico in 1995 - Disbanded in 2001

Being formed in Monterrey, México, by the guitarists Luis Ortiz and Carlos Aréchica, the drummer Jorge Perez and the vocalist Marcela Bovio in 1995, HYDRA was simply a way for the members to play covers songs from artists thye liked and admired.

After a number of line-up changes and deciding to play and compose original pieces, HYDRA started to define themselves musically in 1998, when they had the oportunity to record their first demo song, entitled Cuarto de Control, in March of that year.

In the following year, the band incorporated a new member to their formation, the keyboard player Alejandro Millán, whose adition helped to expand the band's sonic horizons, specailly due to the versarility of the instrument he played. Still in 1999, they recorded the EP Bosquejo, their only output.

Not much after the release of the lonely EP, in the year 2000, the band suffered from a series of line-up changes, what made it very hard to the remaining members to carry on with the project, with the band seeing its demise in 2001, when founding member Marcela Bovio and key members Roberto Quintanilla and Alejandro Millán left to form Elfonía.
