Mainliner biography
MAINLINER were founded by three renowned artists in psychedelia - Asahito NANJOH (bass, voices), Makoto KAWABATA (guitars), and Koji SHIMURA (drums) - as another Japanese noise / avantgarde / psychedelic progressive rock project in 1995. In the following year they released their debut album "Mellow Out" via a San Francisco-based experimental music label Charnel Music. Soon after that Tatsuya YOSHIDA sometimes replaced Koji as a drummer, and MAINLINER had got to create their loud psychedelia under almost the same formation as MUSICA TRANSONIC.

MAINLINER trio released three more albums; "Mainliner Sonic" (1997), "Psychedelic Polyhedron" (1997), and "Imaginative Plain" (2001), simultaneously with activities as MUSICA TRANSONIC.
