Barn Owl biography
Multi-instrumentalists Evan Caminiti and Jon Porras from San Francisco are BARN OWL Originally coming from metal fields they started in 2005 to create their own thing. Often, though not exclusively, the music is based on ambient/drone/shoegaze attitude. Atmospheric guitar excursions, or in other words meditative psychedelic textures are elaborated. Hereby they collaborate with changing musicians on percussion and diverse other instruments which are carefully utilized.

Both made home recordings for the latter half of the 2000s while also pursuing a number of side projects. Their first album 'Bridge To The Clouds' was released on Not Not Fun Records in 2007. 2010 saw their critically acclaimed 'Ancestral Star' (Thrill Jockey), followed by 'Lost In The Glare' one year later.
